Work experience in S5/MYP5 schoolyear 2026/2027

 

What is work experience?        

Two weeks practical work in a company, enterprise, shop, institution etc.
 

Why work experience?              

The work experience is a compulsory element of the S5 syllabus of the European School system it is also the first step into the professional world

When does it take place?          

From Friday, June 18th 2027 to Thursday, July 1st 2027

 

How do I find my work experience place?

By application including my CV. The school will provide a letter of reference

 

When do I start to apply?         
Immediately!!

How do I provide evidence to the school that I have found a work experience place?

The company will fill in a confirmation sheet provided by the school

 

Confirmation sheet must be handed in by March 1st 2027!!

 

Where can I do my work experience?

All EU-countries

Not possible in the company of my parents

Examples:                                     
pharmacy, radio station, hospital, restaurant, bank, kindergarten, supermarket, office of a football club etc.

Important:                                   
Receiving payment is not permitted, otherwise you are not covered by the school insurance

Who checks my attendance?

Mr. Nickel checks by phone or visits the work experience places

How do I report?                        
Every student must write a report on the work experience and hand it in in S6 to the L1 teachers. It will contribute to the L1 A-Mark. You will receive a guideline for the report
