All students in the European school system must complete a two-week internship at the end of the 10th grade, about which they must then submit a detailed internship report to the school. This also applies to our school, the European School RheinMain in Bad Vilbel, where internships are an integral part of career orientation.

Internship in S5 in the school year 2024/2025

What is a professional internship?

A two-week stay in a business, company, firm, shop, association or institution, etc.

 

Why a professional internship?

The professional internship is part of the curriculum of the European Schools and is therefore compulsory for all students in S5.
It is also an important first step into the professional world.


When does it take place?

From Friday, June 20, 2024 to Thursday, July 3, 2025

 

How do you get an internship?
By applying independently with a CV and a letter of recommendation from the school.


When do you apply?

Now!!

 

How do I prove my internship placement?
Internship company fills out confirmation form from school by March 1, 2025

 

Where do I apply?

In Germany and other EU countries. But cannot take place at the parents' company!

 

Possible internships:

Pharmacy, radio station, hospital, doctor's office, bank, kindergarten, industrial company, football club office, supermarket, etc.

 

What else should be considered?

No wages may be paid, otherwise the school insurance will not be liable in the event of an accident.


How are students insured?

Through the Hessen Accident Insurance Fund at home and abroad.

 

Who checks my attendance at the internship placement?
Mr. Nickel carries out telephone checks and/or visits internship companies.

 

Internship report

Must be completed according to the guidelines (provided) and submitted to the L1 teachers at the beginning of S6.
